Love photography or want to take up a new skill? Why not join internationally renowned photographer Sean Conboy for one of our unique Photographic Sessions at the Blackpool’s iconic Grand Theatre.
Sean has been the official photographer for Blackpool Grand for many years and his work is regularly featured in all our media as well as many international magazines.
Photographic Session Options
Conboy’s BASIC Photographic Sessions will cover how using a manual can help your photography, using light to your best advantage, improve your interior photography and, how to look and find pictures in a space. Participants will also have the chance to roam the auditorium of The Grand and take photographs.
Our new ADVANCED Photographic Sessions will cover a full explanation of tilt and shift camera movements, how to use flash and LED lighting to help light interiors, a practical demo of an interior shoot, the chance to use professional flash lighting and tech camera with a Hasselblad 100mp digital back and how to achieve the best viewpoints and use different focal lengths of a lens to make the most of the subject. Only 6 places are available on this course, so places are limited, and you have more opportunities to spend more one-on-one time with Conboy.
To be given this level of access to the building in all its glory is a highly unusual occurrence. These sessions are just under 5 hours and will provide you with a variety of skills needed to photograph beautiful structures and interiors. The day will begin with an introductory presentation, where Sean will use his extensive technical experience to advise you how to best capture the perfect shot. You can then take pictures of Blackpool Grand’s Grade II* listed interior using Sean’s top tips with your own camera.
Sean’s career in photography spans over 30 years and includes working for the most prestigious Swedish camera manufacturers, Hasselblad. Sean has won numerous awards for his architectural images, and over the last few years he has become involved with both lifestyle and people photography for corporate reports and advertising campaigns. When asked what, he enjoys about photographing The Grand, Sean said:
The Grand Theatre has one of the finest interiors in the country. What is special about these unique photographic sessions is that participants may capture something that has never been photographed before!
