Remembering the Grand Theatre

Would you like to leave something in your will to the Grand Theatre, Blackpool?

The theatre has two charitable trusts to which bequests can be left:

Donations go to the maintenance, conservation and physical improvement of the building, especially theatregoer amenities

Blackpool Grand Theatre (Arts & Entertainments) Limited
Registered in England and Wales No 2825229 Charity No 1022754
Donations go towards the artistic and learning programmes or the operation of the theatre.

If you have already remembered us in your Will then please complete our pledge form as this will enable us to thank you. All legacies will be acknowledged (unless you wish otherwise). Any amount can be given to registered charities and deducted from the estate free of Inheritance Tax.



DONATING TO THE GRAND THEATRE

To continue to support new and emerging artists, expand our learning programme and showcase outstanding and cultural performances in addition to conservation and technology improvements, the Grand Theatre needs to raise additional funds.

As a charity we rely heavily on donations from our donors and supporters. Every donation that is made to us, no matter how large or small, is vital in ensuring the vibrancy, accessibility and financial well-being of this unique Matcham theatre continues.

By Donation
You can make donations by cheque or Credit and Debit cards using th downloadable form above or if you prefer by Credit/Debit card online through the link above. Please make cheque payments payable to the charity you are supporting Blackpool Grand Theatre Trust Limited for Maintenance and improvements projects, or to support the artistic programme or operation of the theatre Blackpool Grand Theatre (Arts & Entertainments) Limited. A donation form to accompany your cheque is available to the right under the picture.

By Gift Aid
Did you know that by signing a declaration we can increase the value of your gift by 28%? Simply by filling the Gift Aid declaration, the Grand Theatre can reclaim the tax that you have already paid on your gift. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can reclaim the difference between basic and higher rate tax. Making the declaration is simple and can be made by signing the Gift Aid form which is available to download on the right under the picture.

By Regular Giving
A great way to help us is by becoming a committed supporter. A standing order of as little as £5 a month really can really help us plan for the future. For full information on regular giving, download the relevant form on the right.

By a Gift of Stocks or Shares
Do you have a small number of unwanted shares? Have you received windfall shares which you would like to donate or are you simply looking for a tax-efficient way of giving to charity? A gift of listed stocks or shares can be a highly efficient way to support the theatre.

For full information on gifting stocks and shares, please contact us 01253 290111 and ask to speak with our Finance  Manager. Donating shares to charity gives rise to neither a gain nor a loss for Capital Gains Tax purposes. If you are a UK taxpayer, you may be able to claim income tax relief on the value of your donation. You can get more information about tax relief from the Inland Revenue.

Charitable Giving to Blackpool Grand Theatre through the Self Assessment (SA) tax return.
Individual taxpayers who complete a Self Assessment (SA) return are able to nominate a charity to receive all or part of any repayment and ask for Gift Aid to apply to their donation.This facility is only available to individual taxpayers who complete an SA return; it is not available to partnerships, trusts or estates.To nominate Blackpool Grand Theatre to receive an SA repayment the questions at, either section 19A of the full Self Assessment return or section 12 on the Short SA return, should be completed. We have been allocated an individual code by HMRC Charities. You should enter the code JAD36RG on your SA tax return, to identify Blackpool Grand Theatre Trust as your chosen charity. Your request to donate all or part of a repayment to our charity cannot be processed without this code.

Notification of the Gift
Your donation will go directly to the Blackpool Grand Theatre’s bank account. If you choose to Gift Aid your donation any tax on the Gift Aided donation will also be paid directly to the Blackpool Grand Theatre, without us needing to make a claim. A repayment notification will be sent to us advising of the donation and whether or not Gift Aid applies.

Individual donor’s details will not be included unless you give your permission.
