A MAGICAL PANTOMIME FOR ALL THE FAMILY
Barney Harwood (from CBBC’s Prank Patrol, Bear Behaving Badly and Basil's Swap Shop), back by popular demand Steve Royle from BBC Radio Lancashire, Gary Turner (Emmerdale), Gemma Hunt (CBBC) and acrobatics from the The Nitwits.
Peter Pan is the enchanting tale of the boy who never grew up. In Edwardian London Wendy Darling tells bedtime stories to her brothers Michael and John of swashbuckling swordplay with the formidable pirate leader Captain Hook and the heroics of the playful Peter Pan. But the children become the heroes of an even greater story when Peter Pan flies into their nursery one night and leads them over moonlit rooftops to the lush jungles of the mysterious kingdom of Neverland. Wendy and her brothers join Peter and his friends the Lost Boys in an exhilarating life, free of grown-up rules, while also facing the inevitable showdown with Hook and his pirates.
Fly with us to Neverland in this fantastic family adventure, packed full of magic and mayhem. This year's traditional pantomime at the Grand will also be full of music and dance, fun and laughter with fabulous costumes and lavish sets.
Tick Tock, Tick Tock… Make sure you watch out for the Croc!
UK Productions has presented some of the most critically acclaimed touring musicals in recent years, such as Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, Fiddler on the Roof, Carousel, 42nd Street, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and South Pacific. UK Productions has also produced pantomimes at The Grand Theatre for the past twelve years.
This year UK Productions and the Grand Theatre present the classic Peter Pan, a magical pantomime for all the family.
This year's traditional pantomime at the Grand will be full of music and dance, fun and laughter with fabulous costumes and lavish sets – suitable for all the family this Christmas!
Barney Harwood... plays [Pan] wisely as more of a lost soul than a lost boy, impressing his fans with his high flying skills... it’s fellow CBBC presenter Gemma Hunt who is the scene stealer... Gary Turner is a winner, milking every moment as a dastardly Captain Hook and grumpy Mr Darling... It’s all a little wordy at times and as ever there’s lot of morality to mix with the sometimes odd choice of pop songs.
The Stage
...had everything – super singing, dazzling dancing, eye-catching costumes, accomplished acting but above all humour... Children's TV presenter Barney, who all the children had clearly come to see, threw himself into the lead role heart and soul... Gemma Hunt cut a pretty fairy as Tinkerbell... while Gary Turner conveyed a nastily-humorous Captain Hook perfectly.
