PAUL SHANE
Paul worked as a miner by day and an amateur stand-up comedian at nights in the northern clubs until he turned professional in 1974. His TV credits include: A Day Out, Keep an Eye on Albert, Summer Season (all Plays for Today), Vampires, Buses, Sounding Brass, The Old Crowd, Turtles Progress, Muck and Brass, Life for Christine, The Generation Game, Supergran, Very Big Very Soon, Woof!, The Right Result, Chucklevision, Mothers Ruin, Oh! Doctor Beeching, but is best known as Alf Stokes in You Rang M'Lord, and particularly Ted Bovis in Hi-de-Hi! He is a regular favourite at the Grand Theatre, appearing in Music Hall and repertory seasons.

THE PATTON BROTHERS
The Patton Brothers, Jimmy and Brian, are the two elder brothers of Paul and Barry Chuckle, The Chuckle Brothers. They began their career as a double act in 1954, and their father was comedian Gene Patton. They have starred in many pantomimes. Jimmy Patton started his panto career straight from school in 1946, and was joined by Brian in 1956 for Aladdin at the Wimbledon Theatre. Jimmy and Brian have made many appearances in Chucklevision with their younger brothers, Jimmy taking the monicker 'No Slacking' due to the catchphrase that he constantly has to relay to the Chuckle Brothers. "And remember - No Slacking!"

What a Rotherham line-up we have for you this year!

The Grand Theatre, Variety and Howard & Wyndham
The Grand Theatre was designated National Theatre of Variety by Equity in 2006. Our policy includes preserving and reviving the best traditions of Variety. This season, we pay homage to one of Variety’s greatest production companies, Howard and Wyndham Limited. This was the longest-lived theatre management in Britain, having grown from actor-managers in 1851 to be a nationally influential theatre chain that closed in 1977. The Company produced long-running Variety bills – such as Five Past Eight – and the Wish for Jamie pantomimes. For many years Howard and Wyndham was associated with the Grand Theatre, Blackpool as our programmers. Howard and Wyndham’s titles and ephemera inspire our iconography for the TWO O’CLOCK SHOW. Robert C Kelly, an illustrious Scottish impresario revived the name briefly in the 1990s.
