Following his hugely popular and critically acclaimed revivals of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Importance of Being Earnest, and the legendary Peter Hall production of An Ideal Husband, Bill Kenwright presents Trevor Baxter’s acclaimed adaptation of one of Wilde’s most celebrated stories, Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime.

Making his comedy debut, the multitalented Lee Mead stars as Lord Arthur Savile. Following his success in the hit BBC show Any Dream Will Do, he played the role of Joseph in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for 72 sold-out weeks in London’s West End.

Lee will be performing opposite an all-star cast led by legendary entertainer Gary Wilmot, fresh from his recent national tour of Chicago and previous West End performances in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Me and My Girl, the glamorous Kate O’Mara, star of TV hits including Dynasty and Bad Girls, David Ross, who recently starred in the BBC hit sitcom The Green Green Grass, and Derren Nesbitt, best known for his role as Chief Inspector Jordan in the television series Special Branch and as the Gestapo Officer Major von Happen in the film classic Where Eagles Dare.

"Media attention has focused on what is effectively Lee Mead’s drama debut, as if it might be a stretch too far for this West End musical star. Happily he scores a resounding hit in a performance of style, elegant wit and charm that is reminiscent of the equally charming Hugh Grant..." Read more at thestage.co.uk
