At Blackpool Grand we love children and families, be it joining us for shows, workshops, or activities!

Here we have listed some information about bringing children to the theatre or coming as a family. As parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, or group organisers we all love to be prepared!

Age Guidance

We don’t publish specific age recommendations for our shows. When we do, it is only a recommendation as, ultimately, it’s your choice! Our age guidance usually considers the themes, content, complexity and length of a

production. When a show does have an age recommendation – or restriction – it will be listed on the individual show page. You’ll also find guidance on any specific aspects to be aware of like effects, loud noises, strobe lighting or scenes of a particularly violent or sexual nature that may not be suitable for younger audiences.

A selection of shows may not have started to tour or gone into rehearsals, so we may be unaware of the content and will ask you to call back nearer the time. Please be aware that we do not offer refunds once tickets are purchased (even based on age

restrictions), so please hold off purchasing your ticket if you have concerns.

If a Babes-In-Arms ticket is not listed children under 2-years-old are not permitted.

If you would like to chat about specific show content or suitability, please contact Box Office box@blackpoolgrand.co.uk, alternatively call 01253 290 190.

Here you will find our Admittance Policy.

Children’s Tickets

Children under the age of 18 should always be supervised by an adult or guardian. Young people aged 18 to 26-years-old are eligible for our 18 to 26 offers when listed, offering great value.

On suitable shows, we offer a free Babes-In-Arms ticket for children under 2-years-old. If no Babes-In-Arms ticket is offered on a show, no one under 2-year-old is permitted.

A child over 2-years-old must occupy their own seat. Booster seats are available, ask a member of the Front of House team.

Other Information

We offer baby changing facilities in the Stalls (ground floor) and an accessible toilet allowing more room (especially if you have a couple of children with you). Unfortunately, you cannot take your pushchair to where you are sitting but we can, however, offer to place it somewhere for you. Please speak with one of our Front of House team or a Volunteer and they will direct you (pushchairs are stored on the ground floor in the Stalls).

Blackpool Grand has partnered with a wide selection of great please to Eat and Drink. Many offering great value and discounts on the day of your visit by showing your theatre tickets. Some even offer FREE child meals!

To help children and families prepare we offer Visual Stories and PECS cards for any children that struggle in busy spaces or that are better prepared knowing what the trip will involve. Visit our Accessibility page.

Children are welcome in all our bars but we ask that parents/guardians keep a close watch on busy occasions. We ask parents/guardians not to allow children to hold items over the balcony edge, including coats, drinks and merchandise.

Lost Children – All our Front of House team are connected via headsets, if you experience any worry, or need urgent assistance, they are on hand.
