Better Start Partnership – Blackpool’s Grand Theatre welcomes over 100 local parents and their little ones to our studio next week to BIG UP!

Blackpool’s Grand celebrates its partnership with Better Start and our local Blackpool Children’s Centers on our Early Years and Family programme with this incredible show.  Artists, actors and musicians from Theatre Rites and 20 Stories High visited and delivered workshops on behalf of Blackpool’s Grand Theatre in Baines and Grange Children’s Centre last week.

Better Start Partnership

Its part of our new early year’s studio programme funded by the Arts Council. This new show created by Theatre Rites and 20 Stories High promises to delight, engage and entertain.

We look forward to our studio being filled with parents, little ones, puppets, actors and a beat boxer!

The Grand is committed to working with and for its local community and is already looking forward to our next adventure with local families when Northern Ballet comes to town with Puss In Boots.

About Better Start

Better Start aims to improve the life chances of babies and very young children by delivering a significant increase in the use of preventative approaches in pregnancy and first three years of life. Big Lottery Fund has invested £215m over 10 years in five local area partnerships within Blackpool, Bradford, Lambeth, Nottingham and Southend on Sea.

The Better Start Partnership in Blackpool has been awarded £45 million, led by the NSPCC, the inclusive partnership is made up of the Local Authority, Clinical Commissioning Group, Blackpool Hospital Teaching Trust, Police and the Community. It brings together local families, communities, and agencies from across public, private and voluntary sectors.

Initially, Better Start are focussing in the seven wards where communities face the greatest challenges: Bloomfield, Brunswick, Claremont, Clifton, Park, Talbot and Victoria. As we learn what works in these wards, the partnership will invest further local funds in replicating effective programs and services across the whole town, leaving a lasting legacy for Blackpool.
