Creative Learning Manager
I first started working at The Grand in 1995. In between this I’ve worked as an Arts Officer at Lancashire County Council, run two Art Centres, performed at Sadlers Wells (not as a dancer!) and have always been committed to opening up opportunities for children, young people and families to take part in and shape their own cultural lives.
I manage the Creative Learning Team and the Blackpool Cultural Education Programme.
BA (Hons) in Drama & English Literature, PGCert in Education, Arts Award Adviser, Common Purpose Leadership Graduate. Queens Golden Jubilee Award for Community Theatre and the NW regional Health Award for work Theatre in Health Education.

I’ve been working as a Creative Learning specialist with over 20 years’ experience, both in schools and community settings. At Blackpool Grand Theatre I produce the Grand Young Company, RSC Partnership Projects, Young Ambassadors and anything else fun!
BA (Hons) in Dance with Drama (Roehampton Institute), PGCE PE & Creative Arts (Cambridge), Post Grad Award in Teaching Shakespeare (Warwick).

I’ve proud to be back in my hometown of Blackpool and have been at the Grand Theatre (Creative Learning) for the last couple of years. I’m really looking forward to an exciting range of new projects we have planned for this academic year.
Within my role I produce the Grand Junior Artists Programme, where artists deliver Resilience led practice through storytelling, drama, music, dance and the visual arts in several schools on a weekly basis.
I will be delivering several Arts Award courses throughout the year from Discover to Gold and was thrilled to win the Inspirational Arts Award Advisor 2018 from the North West Cultural Awards / Curious Minds.
As Producer of the Grand Young Company, where around 25 local young people from 14-19 years have the opportunity to take part in weekly workshops and up-skill delivering a contemporary play for the Grand Theatre and National Theatre Connections19 in association with The Electric Sunshine Project.
Musically I leading the Grand Community Chorus through some exciting projects linked to our main stage shows.
With a BA Hons Degree on Music I’ve had a previous life as a teacher and worked in production and Stage Management for several years.
