Blackpool is an amazing town with a friendly and reliable public transportation system that has been working for more than 100 years.

But that’s not all! There are further plans for expansion to keep providing passengers with safe and comfortable transportation.

Getting to the Grand and a Lovely Car Parking Discount

Blackpool Council has provided us with a great facility for our patrons: a Show and Blackpool Cat Parking Ticket for West Street Car Park. Few theatres in Britain offer visitors car parking directly opposite their premises!

Available only with a show ticket, it allows you to park between 5.30pm and 12.30am for only £2.50. West Street Car Park is the nearest one to the Grand – convenient and safe, with added CCTV.

A few buses stop quite close to the Grand, such as number 6, but we’re just a short walk away from the North Pier, which has buses and trams stopping. You can easily plan your visit to see our amazing shows.

New Trams and Buses in Blackpool

Blackpool’s tramway extension is a £22 million project to join the existing route, running along the promenade, to the Blackpool North Railway Station. The new lines are set to travel along Talbot Road from their junction at North Pier.

The Talbot Gateway regeneration project includes a new tramway terminal, office and rental units to let, a four-star Holiday Inn, and two new Flexity 2 trams for the extra passenger demand.

Taking the number of buses up to 100 in 2020, Blackpool Transport have purchased 19 additional new buses. This includes 15 Enviro200 single-decker buses and four Enviro400 double-decker buses. Extensive customer amenities such as wireless phone charging for all seats will be built in.

The new buses will have low emission Euro 6 engines that are controlled by the efficient diesel technology SmartPack, developed by Alexander Dennis – Blackpool Transport’s partner. SmartPack technology allows for highly reduced exhaust emissions and improved fuel economy.

Note: Did you know that we, in partnership with Blackpool Transport, offer discounted Travel Tickets that you can use for buses and trams? You can purchase adult and child travel tickets in simultaneously with a Grand Theatre show ticket. You can buy them when booking tickets online or by giving our Box Office a call on 01253 290190.
