Magic and Sparkle
Blackpool Grand Theatre’s legendary project Magic and Sparkle aim to bring something very special to people’s lives at Christmas.
The Grand in conjunction with Producer Martin Dodd of UK Productions Ltd aims to make the festive season a little more special for local groups, children and families in need with their Magic & Sparkle project.Regular and new pantomime-goers are invited to buy one extra ticket (at a very special discounted rate of £10), which is then donated to local groups, children and families in need.
The Grand as a charity itself is aware of community funding issues, with families and small charity organisations struggling to get by. With the help of partner organisations like Arts Council England, Better Start, Head Start, Blackpool Council, Curious Minds and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation we work to support individuals and children that live locally to experiencing the arts. Many of whom have learning difficulties or don’t have the financial support to be one of the few.
The theatre’s aim is to engage as many children in the arts as possible – financial costs should not cause a barrier. But this funding only goes so far, so to help us to reach groups that simply can’t afford to take part and experience a festive delight we are turning to our incredible supporters and customers to see if they can help?
When donating to Blackpool’s Grand Theatre it aims to help improve literacy, numeracy and confidence in local children. Last year more than 52 schools, 13,000 school children visited The Grand to see a show and a further 3,000 participated in other activities.
To donate to the Magic and Sparkle project you can do that online when purchasing your regular show tickets or call the Box Office on 01253 290 190.
