Treat your ears to some fantastic music this new season, from; ABBA to Bon Jovi, Rhythm & Blues to Country, Rock to Pop. There is something for everyone to sing and dance along to!

What’s On in Blackpool? Music and Lots of it says Blackpool’s Grand Theatre, who are delighted to announce their biggest line-up in music ever!

Following the success of last year’s BEAT TO BEAT line-up Blackpool’s Grand brings together another mammoth programme of live performers, from music genres covering Blues, Rock, Country, Pop, Electronica, and of course the magic of Motown – they have it all!

He’s the man with the sunglasses and the black suit who delivered some of the world’s darkest and most emotional ballads, yet Texas-born Roy Orbison remains one of the most distinctive looking, and sounding performers in modern music.  The one and only Barry Steele takes on the role in The Roy Orbison Story (May 20). He comes with great credentials and a genuine admiration for the Big “O”.

Expect what is being billed as an upbeat and contemporary slant on Orbison’s legacy, we take you on a musical journey from the early Sun years right through to the late 1980s, when Orbison was experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity and worked with Bono, Bruce Springsteen and others including super group the Traveling Wilburys alongside former Beatle George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne.

Recreating the sights and sounds of the legendary Pink Floyd live in concert, UK Pink Floyd (8 June) features over 50 years of hits by this iconic band. The highly acclaimed show also features over two hours of songs from both iconic albums Dark Side Of The Moon and Animals as well as Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Another Brick In The Wall and Comfortably Numb alongside impressive video projection and a stunning light show.

Some Guys Have All The Luck (10 June) is a fantastic theatrical production celebrating the career of one of rocks greatest icons, Rod Stewart – from street busker through to international superstar!

Paul Metcalfe delivers an authentic and charismatic performance assuming the persona of this legendary singer-songwriter and performer right down to the last detail – from the distinctive vocals to the swaggering showmanship and sheer fun that have made Rod Stewart one of the most loved performers of all time.

The show includes all the massive hits from Rod’s incredible career, classic rockers like Maggie May, Baby Jane and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy through to big ballads such as Sailing, You’re In My Heart, and Tonight’s The Night as well as favourites from his days with the Faces such as Stay With Me and Twistin The Night Away and timeless Motown tunes from the album Soulbook.

Radio 2’s Chris Evans also said that they were the best tribute band he had ever seen. The Bon Jovi Experience (21 June) are the world’s first and finest tribute to the great Bon Jovi and are the world’s ONLY tribute to have been requested by and to have performed live on stage with Jon Bon Jovi himself.

They are also the only tribute to have been featured on the official Bon Jovi website. The band have toured to ecstatic audiences the world over… not to be missed.

The boys are back for a sing-a-longa party. The Lancashire Hotpots (7 July) are back with a brand-new show and they want YOU singing along. They’ll be raising the roof with all the Hotpot classics you know and love: Chippy Tea, I Fear Ikea and Egg, Sausage Chips & Beans. You’ll also be able to join in with the hilarious new songs from their latest ‘sing-a-longa’ album. So let your hair down and have a knees up round the ol’ johanna with the unmistakable atmosphere and laughs of a Lancashire Hotpots show.

The Grand’s big summer show this year is ABBA Mania (17 July to 8 September). It is just over 40 years since the band won Eurovision and now it’s your chance to thank them for the music in this spectacular tribute production!

Accepted as the world’s number one touring tribute reviving special memories of when the band ruled the airwaves. The show brings fans old and new a night not to be missed. If you’re looking for an excuse to party, reminisce or simply be entertained by the best music ever, then this is for you!

Music fans are invited to the biggest party of the year as the unstoppable Magic of Motown show (26 August) steams into town! Seen by over a million people nationwide, it’s no surprise that the show is one of the biggest success stories in British theatre history, even performing for Her Majesty the Queen, as special guests at the Royal Variety Performance.

The legend of the great record label lives on, live on stage: five-star performances revive more than 40 back-to-back massive Motown classics with all the glittering costume changes, dazzling dance moves and superb musicianship synonymous with the label in this explosive concert experience.

Celebrate the sound of a generation as the timeless music from artists such as; Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Isley Brothers, Lionel Richie, Martha Reeves, Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson and more, are sensationally recreated for you by an exceptionally talented cast and band.

A Country Night in Nashville (14 October) recreates the scene of a buzzing Honky Tonk in downtown Nashville, perfectly capturing the energy and atmosphere of an evening in the home of country music.

Prepare to be transported on a musical journey through the history of Country, featuring songs from its biggest stars both past and present.  Hits from Johnny Cash to Alan Jackson, Dolly to the Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson to Little Big Town, are showcased by the amazing vocals of Dominic Halpin, Shelly Quarmby and their fabulous backing band, the Hurricanes.

 

With songs including Ring Of Fire, Crazy, Follow Your Arrow, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, Need you Now, 9-5, and The Gambler to name just a few, this incredible celebration of country music is a night not to be missed.

Join us for Maximum Rhythm and Blues (31 October) with the legendary Manfreds and Georgie Fame for a fabulous evening of Rhythm and Blues nostalgia, and some of the greatest hits ever written!

The Manfreds with an all-star line-up of original members, will be recreating many of their greatest hits both as part of Manfred Mann and as successful individual artists. Steve Steinman returns with two of his hit touring shows The Meat Loaf Story (2 November) and Vampires Rock (19 January 2019). The Meat Loaf Story returns with this epic musical concert delivering the best of the best from Meat Loafs Bat Out Of Hell record breaking album.

With incredible stage set, superb band and Steve Steinman’s unique sense of humour and stage presence, the show will have you up on your feet and dancing in the aisles to all the greatest Meat Loaf hits – Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Took the Words Right Out of my Mouth, Anything For Love, Dead Ringer For Love and Bat Out of Hell, to name just a few.

For Vampires Rock, Sam Bailey will star and get her teeth into a real rocker of a show when she takes the role of the Vampire Queen.

This Rock-tastic, Hilarious, Musical Concert lives up to its rocking reputation.  A tongue-in-cheek story, spellbinding cast, fangtastic fire routines, guitar gods and sexy vampettes take you on a ride through some of the Greatest Eighties Classic Rock Anthems ever including tracks from Queen, AC/DC, Meat Loaf, Journey, Guns n Roses and many more.

X Factor winner Sam will be joined by Steinman, plus a full cast of dancers, singers and musicians. Relive all these classic hits in The Rolling Stones Story (17 February) a high energy concert celebrating the music of the World’s Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band.
