Classic comedy is top of the bill this May as the loveable, but famously accident-prone Frank Spencer crashes into Blackpool Grand Theatre in the fun-packed comedy-drama Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em from Tuesday 10 to Saturday 14 May.

Some Mothers

Based on the smash-hit 1970s TV series by Raymond Allen, this highly entertaining show for all the family stars Joe Pasquale (I’m A Celebrity, The Producers) as the loveable, but famously accident-prone Frank, alongside comedy favourite Suzie Blake (The Victoria Wood Show, Coronation St) as his disapproving mother-in-law and Sarah Earnshaw (Spamalot)as his long-suffering wife Betty.

Betty has exciting news for Frank, but he’s preoccupied with possible newfound fame as a magician. With guests arriving for dinner and crossed wires all around, priceless misunderstandings are on the menu…

Celebrated stage and screen star Michael Crawford joined the illustrious ranks of top TV comics when he created the role of Frank Spencer in 1973 and immediately won over British TV audiences with his trademark beret, rain mac and catchphrases ‘Oooh Betty’ and ‘the cat’s done a whoopsie on the carpet’.

Frank Spencer joined the Kings of the TV comedy of the time from Les Dawson, Morecambe & Wise and Billy Connelly to Tommy Cooper and The Two Ronnies and is now firmly lodged in the British psyche as one of the best physical comedians of all time and became a household name overnight. Who can ever forget the hilarious sight of Frank Spencer careering down the road on roller skates?

Seasoned stand-up star and stage favourite Joe Pasquale is the perfect choice to slip on the famous beret and bring Frank back to a welcoming audience! Step back to a time of wonderfully classic humour and join Frank and his family on stage as hilarious mishaps and DIY disasters bring the house down, quite literally, in this comical sketch style show, written & directed by award-winning Guy Unsworth.

Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em is the ultimate feel-good night out, washed down with lashings of nostalgia and Mother’s prune wine and is one of very few productions to achieve an unprecedented 50 four and five-star reviews!!!
