Measure for Measure [25 and 25 March] tells the story of a young novice nun who is compromised by a corrupt official, who offers to save her brother from execution in return for sex, she has no idea where to turn for help.

As You Like It [28 March to 1 April] follows Rosalind as she is banished, wrestling with her heart and her head. With her cousin by her side, she journeys to a world of exile where barriers are broken down and all can discover their deeper selves.

Taming of the Shrew [3 and 4 April] is set in a re-imagined 1590, where England is a matriarchy. Baptista Minola is seeking to sell off her son Katherine to the highest bidder. Cue an explosive battle of the sexes in this electrically charged love story.

The UK premiere tour of Helen Forrester’s By The Waters of Liverpool, comes to Blackpool [11 to 13 May]. Starring Sian Reeves, Mark Moraghan, Parry Glasspool, Lucy Dixon, Eric Potts, Lynn Francis, Danny O’Brien, Roy Carruthers and Chloe McDonald, By the Waters of Liverpool follows a family who have lost everything as they start a new life in Liverpool.

Does she love a crime drama or a thriller? The Classic Thriller Theatre company return to Blackpool with The Cat and The Canary [1 to 6 June]. Twenty years after the death of Mr. West, his descendants gather at a remote mansion to learn who will inherit his vast wealth and the hidden family jewels. When the heir is revealed, the heritage hunters turn into prey and a chain of macabre events is set in motion.

Starring Britt Ekland (The Man with the Golden Gun, The Wicker Man), Mark Jordon (Heartbeat, Emmerdale), Tracy Shaw (Coronation Street), Marti Webb (Evita, Tell Me on a Sunday), Gary Webster (Minder), Ben Nealon (Soldier Soldier), Nikki Patel (Coronation Street) and Eric Carte (Bouquet of Barbed Wire).

Joe Pasquale (New Faces, I’m a Celebrity, Spamalot, The Producers) brings the lovable accident-prone Frank Spencer to life live on stage in Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em [21 to 25 April]. Joining Pasquale, Susie Blake (Coronation Street, The Victoria Wood Show, Blithe Spirit) stars as his disapproving Mother-in-Law and Sarah Earnshaw as his long-suffering wife Betty.

The laughs don’t stop there as a whole host of famous comedians and TV personalities join us this season with their brand-new stand-up shows. Some of our highlights include; Rob Beckett [10 and 11 Jun], Craig Revel Horwood [28 June], Jon Richardson [13 September] Alan Carr [20 and 21 November] and Jason Manford [28 Feb 2021].

Opera International will also return to The Grand’s stage with Ellen Kent Productions La Boheme [16 April] and Madama Butterfly [17 April]. Directed by Ellen Kent, these brand-new productions are traditionally staged and feature beautiful sets and costumes,  international soloists, highly praised chorus and full orchestra.
