Blackpool’s Grand Theatre is a strong advocate for active and creative approaches, using drama and providing creative activities and workshops to explore stories.

 

Our current activities and workshops include:

 

HOLES by Louis Sachar

Are any of your classes thinking of studying the critically-acclaimed HOLES this year? Tied into the upcoming national stage tour of HOLES, Blackpool’s Grand Theatre has developed a package for schools, including a creative workshop with an artist developing an understanding of the themes and characters, and up to 30 tickets to see the production live at the Grand Theatre.

Little Red Riding Hood by Northern Ballet

Teachers CPD Workshop (‘Bringing Stories To Life’) – Are you a KS1 teacher and looking for interactive ways to explore fairy tales with your class? Blackpool’s Grand Theatre and Northern Ballet are offering a free CPD opportunity to KS1 teachers, English/literacy leaders and PE (dance) leaders, focusing on bringing stories to life through movement, music and role-play.

Libraries Workshop

Are you a library practitioner looking for ways to engage children and families with stories? Blackpool’s Grand Theatre and Northern Ballet are offering a FREE workshop opportunity to library staff, focusing on bringing stories to life through movement, music and role-play.
