Grab all your pals together and throw on your garters for a hilarious night out with the Bridesmaids of Britain at Blackpool Grand Theatre from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 October.
This hysterical new play by top comedian Diona Doherty is inspired by the iconic Hollywood blockbuster and follows overly loyal Maid-of-Honour Becky whose life unravels as she leads her best friend Sarah on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Bride-to-be Sarah is having a hen do and things soon go riotously awry as competition hots up between Becky and Sarah’s new BFF Tiffany (who is so gorgeous you would just hate her) over who is the bride’s best friend.
The 2011 Bridesmaids movie starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy was universally loved by audiences and critics alike for finally putting female friendship centre stage in a major Hollywood film and also for being wonderfully witty, laugh-out-loud funny and gleefully crude.
‘Why can’t you be happy for me, and then go home and talk about me behind my back like a normal person?’- Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids of Britain is a little ‘something borrowed’ from the famous film while bringing lots of something new! It’s a cracking comedy romp that’s filled with laughter and tears (and more laughter) and promises to be the girl’s night out to remember. Will this wildly funny new wedding story have a happy ending? Or will this trio of crazy friends rip each other apart and upend all the meticulous wedding planning that has been in the making since primary school?
