Three Award-Winning Comedians at this month’s LOL Comedy Club…
Sean Meo despite looking like he’s just stepped out of a Littlewoods catalogue, is actually a professional stand-up and has been since 1989.
He has risen to the very top of the UK comedy scene and is much in demand as both a stand-up and a writer and has been awarded the title Comic of The Year by Timeout Magazine.
Sean has appeared at the Kilkenny, Cork and Montreal Comedy Festivals. On television, he has worked alongside such diverse names such as Clive James and Jimmy Tarbuck. He has appeared on everything from Des O’Connor Tonight, Celebrity Squares, and Talking Telephone Numbers, to Talking About Sex for Channel 4.
He has performed all over the world including Montreal, Singapore, Melbourne, New Zealand, Ireland and extensively in the US including San Francisco, New York the Riviera in Las Vegas.
As a result Sean has a reputation as one of the most reliably funny act on the international circuit and we are happy he’s going to be bringing his hilarious act to town.
“He can turn out intelligent material with a speed that many other comics can only gasp at.” Time Out
“The pick of last nights excellent line-up in BBC1’s Stand Up Show.” The Sun
“Truly hilarious.” The Scotsman
Chris Cairns has bags of charm and natural enthusiasm which makes him irresistible to audiences. Whilst not looking very quick on his feet, he more than makes up for it with his speed of thought.
Chris has gained a reputation for being able to handle the toughest of rooms with his sharp put downs and a fine eye for a cutting remark. This along with his spontaneity and improvisational skills has created a demand for him as a strong and vastly experienced headline act.
He is a multi award winning comedian after winning The Eric Morecambe Comedian of the Year (2002) and he was The Liverpool Comedian of the Year winner (2003).
“Class improvisation…a real crowd pleaser.” City Life
“A Funny man who is going to the top.” Liverpool Echo
Liam Pickford is a 24-year-old stand-up from Ashton-under-Lyne who for two years has been confusing and amusing crowds on the Northwest circuit.
Winning the Manchester heat of BBC Radio’s New Comedy Award in 2012 and in the same year making the semi-finals of industry springboard the Chortle Student Comedy Awards, Pickford has continued to impress in the early stages of his career.
“He’s got funny bones, and a scattergun mind that doesn’t quite work like anybody else’s.” Chortle
Your compere and MC for the evening is Damion Larkin “One of the country’s top new comedians.” BBC
All line ups are subject to change, but don’t worry, we’ll only replace them with someone just as funny!
