The Russian State Ballet of Siberia returns to the Grand Theatre in January 2014 with three popular ballets; Giselle, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. To celebrate their highly-anticipated return, The Grand has commissioned local print artist Robin Ross to design three exclusive ballet prints using stunning rare images.

The prints have been sent as a gift to Raymond Gubbay LTD, the company who have been bringing the Christmas ballets to the Grand Theatre for many years. Robin has also kindly offered to print an extra set for the Grand Theatre to give away in this special competition.

Robin said, “I have been waiting for some time for ballet images to come my way and it has been a real pleasure to work with The Grand again on such a special and enjoyable project.”

If you would like a chance to win this stunning limited edition set of framed ballet prints (1 of only 2 sets ever produced) simply purchase tickets for any of the three Russian State Ballets between 6 and 19 December to be entered into the special prize draw.

Formed in 1981, the Russian State Ballet of Siberia has quickly established itself as one of Russia’s leading ballet companies and has built an international reputation for delivering performances of outstanding quality and unusual depth. The soloists and corps de ballet are superb, and never fail to delight audiences with their breathtaking physical ability.

Giselle, the most poignant of all classical ballets, combines powerful emotions and visual splendour in a chilling and heart-rending tale of love, treachery and forgiveness from beyond the grave.

The story of Giselle and her aristocratic but duplicitous lover Albrecht is set to a glorious score and brought to life by the magnificent costumes and virtuoso performances of the Russian State Ballet of Siberia. You can see Giselle at The Grand on Friday 10 January 2014.

Swan Lake, the greatest romantic ballet of all time, is brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score. From the impressive splendour of the Palace ballroom to the moon-lit lake where swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all. You can see Swan Lake on Saturday 11 January 2014.

The final ballet in the trio is every child’s favourite fairy tale Sleeping Beauty on Sunday 12 January. This classic story of love and innocence, mystery and magic is set to Tchaikovsky’s sublime score. Stunning choreography, sumptuous costumes and wonderful sets form the fantasy world in which the Lilac Fairy struggles against the evil Carabosse.
