Blackpool Christmas Stories – There’s something very special about Blackpool at this time of year. We don’t know whether it’s the lights, the pantomimes, the general festive atmosphere or a combination of all three, but Blackpool has a magical feel in the days and weeks heading towards Christmas and we just can’t get enough!

Blackpool Christmas stories are always filled with fun and laughter. It’s such a joyous time of year, when everything winds down for the season and friends and family come together to celebrate this special month. December provides so many fun opportunities for you and your family in Blackpool. Not only is it pantomime season, but many places hold special festive events to get you in the Christmas spirit too.

How many Blackpool Christmas stories will you be able to tell this year?

Take a look below at our favourite Christmas events in Blackpool, we’re confident that there’s something for everyone…

Blackpool Light Switch On

Blackpool Christmas stories always bring up strong visuals of twinkly lights and lots of colour and Blackpool is always good for that. Let’s face it, no Christmas is complete without fairy lights on the tree and lights in the streets. Blackpool always puts on a good show and this year is no exception. Radio Wave and Blackpool BID have hosted the event this year which promises a fun evening for the whole family. Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle from Emmerdale) will flick the switch this year alongside other famous entertainers. It’s free too, so why not take the family out for this special event?

Beauty and the Beast Pantomime

When people think of classic Blackpool Christmas stories, pantomimes automatically pop into mind. No family Christmas is complete without a trip to the panto! This year The Blackpool Grand is home to Beauty and the Beast and this time it’s featuring Danny Walters (EastEnders) and Hayley Kay as the main characters. Fun fact: Steve Royle who plays ‘Louis La Plonk’ will be making his 16th annual appearance this year!

Aladdin At Blackpool Tower

Are you ready to see Aladdin from inside one of the most famous and iconic attractions in the UK? During November-January, the famous Blackpool Tower will play host to one of the country’s favourite Christmas shows, Aladdin. This show, however, is presented with a twist. This circus show will feature jaw-dropping stunts and slapstick humour suitable for the whole family. Aladdin like no other.

G4 Christmas

Located in the iconic Tower Ballroom, the multi-platinum selling quartet G4 are performing their G4 Christmas Tour. Allow the operatic harmonies to put you into the Christmas spirit as they sing classics such as: When a Child is Born, Silent Night and All I Want for Christmas.

One Night Only

If you’ve ever wanted to see what the Empress Ballroom looks like inside, then Christmas might be the best time to visit. You can party inside the famous ballroom at this event, which provides its guests with a glass of fizz on arrival followed by a three-course meal and show. A treat for your ears: the fabulous Midnight Soul Sisters promise to bring the house down with classics from Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Chic, Candy Staton, The Supremes and more! There’s an aftershow DJ too for those who want to party the night away.

Whether you choose to go to a pantomime a circus show or concert, Blackpool promises to make your Christmas super special this year. Bright colourful lights, fun-filled entertainment and a buzzing atmosphere sets this city apart from any other. With the Blackpool Tower, Winter Gardens and the Grand Theatre on your doorstep, you’ll be thoroughly spoilt for choice this December.
