When is Strictly Come Dancing Blackpool Week? Everything you’re going to want to know about this year’s Strictly Come Dancing trip to our iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

As the weeks tick down it won’t be long before the pros, stars, and judges of Strictly Come Dancing head to the home of Ballroom, Blackpool.

“All I want to do is to get to Blackpool Week,” is the one wish for many of the Strictly Come Dancing contestants and professionals.

Reaching Blackpool is a huge landmark stage in the Strictly calendar. It’s what nearly every contestant wants! The 10 paddles, Hosts, Judges, Pro dancers and the Celebrities with their overnight luggage head to the iconic and beautiful seaside town of Blackpool!

Blackpool’s Tower Balllroom is synonymous with dance, ‘there’s nowhere like it’ you’ll hear many of the pros-dancers say. Darcy and Shirley hare huge fans.

The remaining couples enjoy completing their chosen dance across this enormous expanse of gorgeous sprung floor beneath giant chandeliers and ornate plasterwork. Everyone ups their game in the home of ballroom.

The Tower Ballroom was built between 1897 and 1898 (The original, the Tower Pavilion, opened August 1894) and opened in 1899. It was designed by Frank Matcham. Matcham is also renowned for the design of the stunning Blackpool Grand Theatre, known as the “Prettiest Theatre In The Land”.

Above the Ballroom stage is the inscription, “Bid me discourse, I will enchant thine ear” from the poem Venus and Adonis, by William Shakespeare.

This year, the Blackpool Week episode will take place on Saturday 18 November 2018. Just four weeks before the final.
